Patagonia W's Ultralight Down Hoody French Red

So light. So warm. The Ultralight Down Hoody combines 800-fill-power Traceable Down (800-fill-power goose down from geese traced from parent farm to apparel factory to help ensure the birds that supply it are not force-fed or live-plucked, as certified by NSF, an independent third party) with a superlight 15-denier Pertex Quantum® Y-yarn shell for the lightest-weight down hoody we make.

Just when the sun starts to warm the afternoon, a blizzard blasts the belay. Through the vagaries of shoulder seasons, our Ultralight Down Hoody holds your heat with 800-fill-power Traceable Down (800-fill-power goose down from geese traced from parent farm to apparel factory to help ensure the birds that supply it are not force-fed or live-plucked, as certified by NSF, an independent third party) and an ultralight yet super tough shell fabric blocks wind and sheds snow with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. The sewn-through construction, tight channel pattern and just the right amount of down increase versatility for use in more moderate temperatures and diverse activities. The slim silhouette (and low-profile hood with single-pull adjustment) maximizes thermal efficiency and suits its ideal uses: belay parka over light layers at crisp crags, minimalist summer alpine bivies and unmatched warmth layered under a shell. Pockets include two zippered handwarmers and one zippered chest. The hoody self-stuffs into the left handwarmer to become a travel pillow, and into the chest pocket for storage, with carabiner clip-in loop. A drawcord hem helps keep in the heat.

Traceable Down Insulation
Patagonia Traceable Down provides the highest assurance of animal welfare in the apparel industry. Every down cluster, in every one of our down products, comes exclusively from birds that were never force-fed and never live-plucked. How do we know? We hired an independent third-party expert to trace and verify our down supply chain from farm to jacket–and every step in between.
